Daybreak

He is an earthly warrior,
strong and bold within his soul.
Yet still a mere mortal,
his body suffers pain.

His battle has not ended,
much blood lost, but pride remains.
More trials still at hand,
sacrifices to face.

Courage will not desert him.
The cold may gnaw him tonight.
Wounds may ceaselessly bleed.
Then all will come to pass.

As dawn touches his sorrow,
night will soon come to an end.
He’ll rise again for war,
for his scars will soon mend.
