No More Beauty Just The Beast

Darkness within and out,
the cold grips upon my heart.
No more wonderful words,
but fangs sharp as polished swords.

You held me in your arms,
with your promise of duty.
Alas, no love – but charms,
your sweetness, out of folly.

No more beauty just the beast.
See me now without the mask.
For you I have looked my best,
walked out from my nasty task.

Hatred is upon me,
my sole vengeance, you will see.
For I shall have justice,
your sins will receive notice.

You have shattered my soul,
my heart, a vacant hollow.
Thus, vile creature, so foul,
expect me in your shadow.

No more beauty just the beast,
you will never find mercy.
Prayers will do you the least,
your blood has made me thirsty.

The awakening.

Sonnet 047

My shining knight, I have seen you last night.
Solemnly you smiled, thus, I must forgive.
Again, you have taken my heart for flight.
In one brief moment, you let me believe.
My knight, once you were a beloved friend.
How I have laughed with you wholeheartedly.
Alas, something vile, within you a fiend!
My knight, you have crushed my soul wickedly.
I have given you my admiration,
as you gave me your  beautiful promise.
Yet, my great misfortune - your deception.
My dashing knight, let my love gone demise.
For I have forgotten you like a dream,
Your words, discarded in a loathsome stream.

Every maiden’s nightmare.

Within Three Days

Commitment is a big word. Most people will choose not to get involved with something or someone if he cannot do what is expected of him. Unfortunately, there are individuals that make promises that they cannot keep and those that tend to wait even for eternity.

Within Three Days is a four stanza poem with an alternating rhyme series. While the first and third lines comprise the total of seven syllables, the second and fourth lines have the total of five syllables.

For some personal reasons, commitment in relation to the number three has become an inspiration of the author (me) to write the poem. Some facts can be revealed though.

In the symbolism and significance of number three, it is cited as one of the four perfect numbers - number seven as a spiritual perfection; ten as ordinal perfection; twelve being a governmental perfection; and finally number three as divine perfection.

The number three symbolizing a divine perfection reveals only what is real, complete or essential like God Himself. God is life, spirit and light. Everything aside from God is vanity. All things under the sun are said to be useless or empty. Sadly, man himself can be unreal as well.

Fortunately, the number three also signifies the three gifts of grace – faith, hope and love. And as human beings, we can remain strong with these gifts from heaven while we wait for that commitment.

Thanks for The Imagination

Going to some special trip or spending money without worries is an ambition. But for simple people, surviving the day fruitlessly regardless of so much effort, is enough for one great goal. With this, life can really be disheartening. Fortunately, there are always the better sides of things. We only need to open our eyes and heart.

My poem ‘Thanks for the Imagination’ is a four stanza poem. It contains the sum of 8 syllables in line one and four while the sum of 7 syllables in line two and three. There is an imperfect rhyming series at the first and third line in the first stanza – with the words ‘failed and cares’ but, with perfect alternating rhyming sequence with the rest of the poem.

The first stanza is addressing man’s sarcasm in life being unjust. The second stanza is simply showing that even with all man’s failure, life goes on. The third one is addressing God’s wishes upon man. Finally, the fourth stanza is describing man’s acceptance with all the trials given to him.

Life can be unfair. Most of the time, we do not get what we deserve. But, God has plans for us – far better than we have in mind. And God has given us the capability to imagine and see things or circumstances beautifully and in a positive way.

At least…

Sonnet 008

How does a composer make his music?
Does he write it from his own bitterness?
Or from the taunting voice of his critique -
who desires more of his tears and sadness?
How does a poet find words for his piece?
Does he seize these out from a sweet lover?
Or calls them out from his heart for a tease -
as he keeps his passion for another?
And how does a novelist weave his tale?
Does he write it with fear for rejections?
With such fondness while detesting to fail -
thus, he stays vigilant for his actions?
For vain or love, audience – an essence.
One’s triumph, every writer’s success.

Sonnet 004

A born master of this craft, I am not,
but a foolish lover of such vile art.
Thus, my soul’s pleasure is what I have sought,
as much torment is endured by my heart.
Oh writing! My long time companion,
my dear friend who has offered me a way.
Still, is there hope for my aspiration?
That soon heart aches will receive its pay?
Oh writing! My soul seeks for affection.
How I pray that one day I may harvest,
your love as I hold on to my question:
Shall I ever become an interest?
Writing – such challenge, not an easy game,
My endearing passion, alas, my pain

If Tommorow Never Comes

An ending for every beginning,
all things are not meant forever.
Twinkling stars will not go on sparkling,
as time will soon cease to linger.

More, few and less but never empty,
life with you is yellow and blue.
I thank God for such sincerity,
of great kindness, I found in you.

I have traveled alone in darkness,
survived out of hope and courage.
Thus, you emerged from your own abyss,
and began to create our page.

My love, you told me I am your world,
your light as you are to my eyes.
How I felt your words within your hold,
as we thrive on our mortal place.

If the future will resist to come,
or if tomorrow doesn’t show.
There can’t be anything to fear from,
for  strength within our love will flow.

Love?

You are my knight.
I have sworn to be with you.
My life, my light –
but, does love dwells within you?

You have my heart –
the whole part, every pieces.
Alas, an art!
You see me not for kisses.

Not a dear prize,
You can aspire or treasure.
But, for your lies –
some convenience you adore.

You let me stand.
Before your foes, I lash out.
Stains in my hand,
as you keep your quiet mouth.

Now, I’m tattered.
My soul – ugly and filthy.
I am hated,
for the facts that I’m guity.
`
Aching to have,
your affection for my heart.
Love, do you love?
A shield? A knife? I am not.

Sometimes

Gloomy blue and red to serene eve,
tomorrow, a stormy sky.
With incessant tear cascades from above,
my grief will refuse to die.

Often I ignore, yet sometimes I ask,
of some things not meant for me.
Bitterness enclosed in a lovely mask,
as I wear it joyously.

The sun scatters hope while morning arrives,
sweet comfort like your embrace.
Once again, I rise to fight and survive,
and you join me with my pace.

Sometimes we give up, at times we lose faith.
We heed upon our heart’s told.
We rise and fall like the tides of the Earth,
finding peace within our hold.

Victoria

 My gloria,
remember Victoria?

As shadows begin to creep,
she prays for valor,
and hope not to weep ,
for to die, she must savor .

Remember Victoria?
Her love and her vow?
My own gloria,
the girl who was once your beau.

She aches to hear your voice,
Every night, she waits -
your heart, her sole choice.
Hence, to perish is her fate.

Do you remember her name?
Her enthusiasm?
Her spirit, her game?
Victoria, your phantasm.

Your lover, my dearest friend.
Guilt has been attained,
lies have come to end,
yet affection has remained.

Remember Victoria?
her madness, my feat.
All my gloria,
for my birth has been her death.

My gloria,
remember Victoria.

Blessed August

Some may fear August,
with the warning of ill luck.
Marriage not to last,
or one to hold in a work.

August, a bad start,
entrepreneur’s fearful month.
Hence to interment -
presence, take care  against death.

August, a ghoul month,
beware as the spirits roam.
Eve of the 14th -
hell opens, alas ghosts loom.

Thus, twice I’ve conquered,
no ghosts neither bad fortune.
Twice, gifts I’ve received –
both blessings with divine tune.

Nasty, spiteful fate -
not in the month of August,
nor in March or May,
but, in our own heart’s disgust.

Sonnet 013

I love you, as I adore the heaven.
With its cottony clouds or clearest hue,
It speaks plainly of your sweet innocence
thoughtful and gentle, affection so true.
I love you, as I admire the rainbow,
with its remarkable color of you.
Stubborn red, sad blue or cheery yellow –
each day with you is always fresh and new.
I love you, as breathing is essential,
without you there is nothing to live on.
No joy, but emptiness a potential.
For soul will stray, heart will turn into stone.
My little love, yet my life and my world.
A mortal love, I shall resist to hold.

Make It Happen

Day and night she prayed -
Solemnly, looked up above.
Still, she was ignored.
Maybe she should plead out loud?

She wanted to be an actress,
but, too shy to stand out bold.
So, she stayed inside her fortress,
hoped for a clap from the world.

She sobbed and she wished,
begged faithfully and louder.
Pleas will be received,
she said her prayers longer.

Hence, poor girl’s prayers have been heard,
for her good daughter, God came.
He hoped for her to have courage,
make her first step for her dream.

Heaven's Promise

Her tears wouldn’t stop.
The decision was in her hands.
She’s helpless… confused,
as she watches a loved one dies.

She loathed the fact.
Yet, she must face it and accept.
A real dead-end.
She only wished, she wasn’t there.

She hated herself,
to think its all for the best.
She loves him so much.
to see him in pain, an ill luck.

She cries, stares outside,
beyond the clearest glass-window.
She looks at the sky,
orange and violet colors.

Such beautiful sight!
Amazing… delightful picture.
More pain-stabs in her heart.
But then, her mind begins to clear.

She silently prays,
lets go of her precious father.
God will be with him.
No more suffering in heaven.

Sonnet 035

While the earth loses more of its splendor,
I memorize the color of its youth.
Fresh scented greens, as mark of its grandeur,
into compost of unspeakable loot.
Stormy skies in the month of sunny May,
cold winter in an Egyptian palace.
The world has turned upside down as they say –
in a harsh way, into bitter solace.
Sadly, I gazed upon a stranger’s eyes,
As I remember its familiar spark.
Still, a lover’s sacred vow never dies –
ever feeling, not a question to ask.
Changes can be unnerving to embrace,
hence my courage, as within your arms – my place.

I Was A Bird

Gentle rays of the morning,
beautiful promise of dawn.
As the land lays unmoving,
I spread my wings against the sun.

The clearest blue horizon,

serene, magnificent heavens.
A gay feeling of freedom,
I soar towards the open seas.

The world has lost its splendor,
barren lands… poisonous waters.
With the rise of new cities,
doom befalls the earthly creatures.

Sadness betrays my proud heart.
My hunger and my great losses,
heavy trials for my strength.
Still, I soar with the highest hopes.

One day, I shall have my home,
to dwell with mg daughters once more.
For now, I have my haven,
in the glorious sky above.

Alas, pain rips trough my chest,
blood gushes from my tiny heart.
Shot by hunters from the earth,
I plunge into the deepest sea.

A victim of man’s madness,
I am the last of my kind.
This is my tale of sadness,
my wasted life as an eagle.

Passion

Feel my spirit,
obsessive and fiery.
It’s unrestrained,
even with your cruelty.

I have been blessed,
God inhabits within me.
Shan’t be conquered,
your attack will be futile.

Eternally,
my fire will ceaselessly burn.
Tongues won’t be vile,
for I stay deaf with passion.

June Bride

Lovely lady in white,
there she goes.
She walks with a smile,
yet no joy on her face.

She carries red roses.
Some contrast…
to her palest skin.
Such terror for her fate!

The crowd cheers in delight;
Here’s the bride,
garbed in purest white,
happy for a new life!

Alas, she sees the groom!
There she goes,
running for the door,
not ready to move on!

Waiting for your Kiss - Uncut

You said, you come today,
and I have waited.
Looked out for you all day,
by the door, I’ve stood.

Hence, a broken promise.
as the sun sets down,
As sparkling eve appears,
I remain unknown.

No calls, nothing to hear,
Not a mere excuse.
Yet in my heart, no fear,
I wait for your kiss.

Searching for you, my child,
Longing for your love.
As I thirst for your trust,
I seek for your heart.

Tomorrow – a bad day.
With dark, teary skies,
Maybe soon, you will stray,
in my home you’ll stay.

Searching for you my child,
needing your pure trust.
Always giving you love,
waiting for your kiss.

Looking out for my stray.
And if in my place,
Still, you could not stay.
For more, I will wait.
